Robes

Many Witches choose to wear ceremonial robes for their rituals. We wear special clothing for many activities in life - for work, for sports, for fancy restaurants. Wearing ritual robes helps to shift your mind set from the mundane world and the day's normal happenings to the special time of ritual. Like any other tool used in ritual, your robes will absorb energy from the ritual work wherein you wear them, and become more powerfully evocative of magick as time progresses.

Others believe that clothes hinder the energy that is built during ritual and perform in circle "skyclad" (nude). Many Witches use a combination of wearing ceremonial robes and working sky clad, depending on the situation and/or place where ritual is performed.  The weather is also a factor with outdoor rituals, of course.

If you prefer being clothed choose a natural fiber cloth that will breath easily. Either go barefoot or wear leather sandals.
